Microvascular Reconstruction: Flap Surgery
Contributed to helping patients heal properly and regain function in areas of rehabilitation including swallowing, speaking, and eating.
Tissue Transfer:
We developed a method to move scalp tissue to cover and heal the throat area after a complete voice box removal. This method ensures good blood flow, leading to faster healing and fewer serious wound problems.
Lip Reconstruction:
We have implemented cutting-edge techniques for lip reconstruction designed to restore crucial functions, including speech, eating, and drinking, for patients who have lost significant portions of their lips. This method effectively utilizes tissue and tendon from the forearm to reestablish lip functionality.
Temporoparietal Fascial Free Flap:
The TPFF (temporoparietal fascial flap) is a hidden flap under the hair on the scalp, using superficial temporal vessels. It can be used for larynx surgery to ensure a healthy blood supply, protecting the site from infection. This technique strengthens nasopharyngeal repair, reducing leak rates to below 5%.
