Pre - Anesthesia Clinic Information

Your visit to the Pre-Anesthesia Clinic will help prepare you for your surgery. If you need help to understand English, please bring a translator with you.

Your appointment may take from 2 to 4 hours, depending on your health history. Garage parking is recommended. It is very important that you are on time.

If you are not able to come to your appointment it is important to call your surgeon's office at least 48 hours before your appointment. A new appointment will be made for you. It is also helpful if you call the PAC office at 416.480.6100 x 6822 to let them know you can't make it.

You were asked to complete a questionnaire when you were being told about the surgery. This is important because a Nurse in the Pre-Anesthesia Clinic will need this information to determine what kind of appointment you will need.

Eat, drink, and take ALL of your reqular medications on the day of your Pre-Anesthesia Clinic appointment.

On the day of your appointment, please go to the PAC Registration Desk. It is located at M Wing, Ground Floor, Room 402 (MG402).

Please note that although everything possible will be done to prepare you for your surgery, surgical times are guidelines only. Delays are common. Sometimes, scheduled surgery cases are cancelled because there is someone else who needs emergency surgery. If this happens to you, you will be contacted by your surgeon's office within 48 hours and rescheduled as soon as possible.
